November

The show season has started already. And we are very pleased to report that our yearling anglo filly Spellbound KS ( Burrendah the Wizard x Deveron airs n Graces) was presented at the Waikato Royal show for us by Regent Park. Gidget went on to win the Champion Junior Led Sporthorse  and also the Supreme Led Sporthorse of the show. She continued on her winning way on the Sunday to win the Supreme Led Arabian Derivative of the show as well. What an amazing start to her career. Two weeks later she competed at the Waihi A & P show, to once again take out the Supreme Led Arabian Derivative title.

Spellbound KS

Miracle of Love has finally foaled, and it was worth the wait. A lovely bay filly by the welsh A stallion Mahogany Black Ice. Her paddock name is Charm. And we look forward to getting her out later in the season. Charm is available for purchase.

Aloha Touch of Class has also foaled late in December. She was about a week overdue, but another black filly so we are very pleased. Star is a real sweet filly who is going to be tall. Her sire Whisper (Dec) made his mark on the Nz dressage scene before his untimely passing.

Deveron Grace n Favour who resides in Australia has now been confirmed in foal to Gai El Jullyen for 2012. We are very excited about this mating and can’t wait to see what she produces for us.

Ballanbrae Socialite a lovely chestnut anglo mare, was purchased earlier in the year, she has been a broodmare for the past couple of years but has been an Australian Champion as a yearling. She has since foaled a huge colt to the Australian champion anglo “Annabrae Rogue Trader”. Max as he is affectionately called will possibly be available for sale at a later date.

October

We are pleased to announce the arrival of Simeon Seana’s first foal in early September. A filly from the lovely riding pony stallion Willowcroft Grand Mikado ( Aus).

Diva should mature between 13.2 and 14hh. Diva is very beautiful like her mother, as yet we are not sure what colour she will be… the verdict is out as yet whether she will be a red bay or possibly a liver chestnut.

She has the most amazing movement and is personality plus, demanding attention from everyone who visits. She loves her kisses like her dam. We look forward to getting Diva out to a show or two later this season.

Diva is proudly offered for sale to the most exceptional of homes. Photos below of Diva.

Aloha touch of class and Miracle of love are very close to foaling. Both are due at about the same time. This is the biggest we have ever seen Class, so this foal is certainly going to have some height.

Grace n Favour is currently agisted at Future Farms in Melbourne. We tried unsuccessfully to turn her into a show horse, however after spending her life as a broodmare this was not meant to be. And grace found the transition to stressful. As such she has been returned to the paddock and is currently being bred to Gai El Jullyen for a 2012 foal. This foal is a contender in the 2013 NSW stud show sweepstakes, with the opportunity to compete for thousands of dollars in prize money.

Willowcroft Chorus has also foaled at Eminem Arabians in Australia. A lovely big bay colt [pictured above] that will mature around 14.2hh. Chorus has been the most amazing broodmare we have been told. Expressions of interest are invited in both Chorus and her foal.

Spellbound KS has been sent to Auckland for show prep this season due to our hectic schedule and mares that are foaling. She will be shown on our behalf by Regent Park. We look forward to Gidgets first show of the season at the end of October at Waikato Royal Show.

August

Well the NZ Nationals came again.. and once again it was wet. We can’t believe that for a second time we had to brave the rain and horrible weather in Cambridge.

We were very pleased to be able to acquire the use of Kate & Doyle Dertell from Future Farms in Australia to show our two weanlings for us. A special thanks to Fanus Crous from Rhodium Arabians for allowing us to have Kate & Doyle as our handlers on the day.

Both our weanling had to compete against each other in the Weanling Colt / Filly or gelding class. Both going on to qualify for the TOP 5. For the TOP 5 class they competed against the yearling colts/ fillies and geldings. And we had the pleasure of Guess KS winning the TOP 5 Led Derivative junior ( third) and also our anglo filly Spellbound KS winning the NZ Reserve National Champion led junior, to a yearling colt. These two really did us proud, and we are very thankful to Kate & Doyle for their help and the halter training for the two babies at the show.

Guess Ks has since been sold to Sharon Muirhead in the south island and we wish Sharon all the best with our boy, boofy leaves at the end of August for his new home in Invercargill.

Willowcroft Chorus is sadly offered for sale due to the recent acquisition of Deveron Grace n Favour ( Warrawee S’preem x Deveron Latoya) a maternal half sibling to our Deveron Airs n Graces, though she is a plain bay mare and around 16.1hh.

Grace n Favour will be shown at limited outings in Australia before being bred to the Arabian stallion Gai El Jullyen later on this season, grace n favour has never been shown before so it will be interesting to see how she competes in the show ring. We purchased the Jullyen service in the NSW Sweepstakes auction and are looking forward to what she can produce for us. She has already had some exceptional Arabian Warmblood foals for her past owner Robyn Holden. The last a Weltmeyer foal who was awarded Premium with the ACE inspection tour.  A special thanks to Robyn Holden for allowing us to purchase Grace.

We are now only a couple of weeks away from our first foal of the season. Simeon Seana is due to foal to Willowcroft Grand Mikado for an Arabian Riding Pony foal. This foal will be for sale and we are rather impatiently waiting on its pending arrival.

February

Well an update is long overdue and there has been a lot going on over the past few months at the farm as well as some more fabulous news from the owners of Kelaray stud bred horses.

Congratulations to Connie Fischer and Lush Ks recently they competed at the Victorian Arabian Championships and won Champion AWB Junior female.

We also made the trip in January to see Connie and Legs compete at the Melbourne Royal. Ray was excited to show Lush Ks [photo left] for Connie at the show, and they did very well winning her AWB junior female class, and also placing in the Warmblood & Sport horse classes. Connie is very excited about the future with legs as her future dressage horse. We can’t wait to see them competing under saddle together.

Also in January Jassur Ks competed at the Taranaki A & P show with his owner Tanya Mcginty taking out the Champion Purebred title, later on in the month they also competed at the Taranaki All Arabian A Class show.

Against some very tough competition Jassur won the Champion Purebred Gelding, and TOP 5 led Purebred Arabian. Such an amazing result for a young horse.

Recently we purchased a lovely riding pony mare Willowcroft Chorus ( Willowcroft Vagabond x Baroness Vera) from Burren-dah stud in Australia. Chorus is a lovely broodmare that will produce some outstanding offspring for the stud. She has been bred to Crave FF for a 2011 foal. At this stage Chorus will remain in Australia until she foals, once re-bred she will return to NZ.

Our first show for the season was the North Island All Breeds Show with fabulous results. “Deveron Airs n Graces” [photo opposite right] and her filly foal at foot “Spellbound KS” were prepped and taken to the show for the 2 days of showing. Young Spellbound KS taking everything in her stride, and winning and placing in all of her classes.  Grace showing that she isn’t quite ready to retire from the show ring, taking out the Champion Senior Arabian Derivative and also the Grand Champion Arabian Derivative (over several multi supreme led show horses).  Grace won every broodmare class she was entered in including the Arabian Derivative, Sport horse, Show hack and Warmblood rings.  Grace topped it all off on day 2 of the show, winning the Supreme Led Broodmare of the show award, against some stunning broodmares from all the other rings. We are so proud of Grace and her achievements as a led show horse, but also as a broodmare.

Recently we heard that her daughter Graemar Sense’ recently won the Supreme Led Arabian / Derivative award at the Grand National Show,, as well as the Reserve Champion Ridden.  Sense’ has been a superb mare for her owners winning numerous Supremes led & ridden in open company in the south island. Also the lovely gelding Graemar Fendi has started his ridden career already racking up Championship wins in the Park Hack rings.

Also in January we took both Aloha Touch of Class and Deveron Airs n Graces with foals at foot to the NZ Warmblood Inspections, held at Matthews Hanoverians. The guest judge was part of the ACE tour in Australia Mr Gerd Kuest from Germany. A marvellous day was had by everyone at the inspection. Both our mares scoring very highly on the inspection and the young Guess KS being awarded “Premium Status” . Guess scored numerous “8’s” in the inspection… including 8.5 for walk and 8 for trot, and several 8’s for conformation.  This just proves that the breeding programme we have chosen is on the right track.

Weaning took place in late February in preparation for the NZ National Arabian Championships, the decision was made to take only the two babies to the show. As a first outing for our Guess Ks we took him to the Kaitaia A & P show. We are so proud of our boy as he took it all in his stride. And just loved the attention he was given by passers-by. Guess was a star for the stud winning the Yearling Sport Horse and placing in all his suitability classes. The highlight of the show was being awarded the Reserve Champion Led Sport Horse Junior against some very nice 2 & 3 yr old colts and fillies. We received some lovely comments on him and also on his movement. He is very proudly offered for sale and we know he will be a star in years to come.
